HE  SHOVES  HIS  HANDS  IN   _{his pockets ,  not surprised by her reaction .  He’d probably do the same thing in her position ,  so he doesn’t press on .   Instead ,  he takes a couple of steps back ,  giving her a space that he feels she needs .     “   It was   WORTH  a shot ,   ”     he whispers ,  letting the silence sinks in .  But he  hates  the quiet  ;   that’s why he’s always so loud ,  that’s why he sometimes talks to himself   — — —   just to remind himself that he’s in the present .     “   Can I get you anything ?   A cup of tea or something maybe ?   ”}

“   THAT’D  BE  GREAT .  THANKS ,  DUDE .   ”     _{He feels his jacket’s pockets for the folded form before handing it to the other guy .  The guy easily towers over Zack and he shouldn’t lie and say that he doesn’t feel intimidated .  But after hearing him talk without all the misunderstandings ,  he seems like an easy - going guy .  Working with him won’t be too bad .  Zack looks at his surroundings ,  soaking it in ,  searching for any records that might pique his mom’s interest .     “   We call ‘em  ‘CDs’  or usually we just go to iTunes .   ”}

          _{“   To be honest ,  If it weren’t for my mom I wouldn’t even want to apply to a record store ;  I just remember her being obsessed with her  ABBA  vinyl   –––––  and ,  well ,  well ,  whaddaya know ,  you guys have it .   ”     He points to the record on the opposite shelf .     “   Wait .  Did I just hear you say mixtapes ?   You’re like what 20s ,  30s tops ?   ”}

_{oh yeah i just remembered that i have a long headcanon post about zack and his childhood moving countries and cities. i should finish that.}

_{and to add to this. i’m gonna write about his relationship with his father. they’re not on bad terms. zack actually really loves his father but they’re not exactly  that  close. there’s a reason why he’s  much  closer to his mom.  ( and as usual, asians fathers aren’t exactly the most affectionate, so zack doesn’t know if his father loves him back as much as his mother does, especially since he moves them around and zack is really impacted by the move. )}
